Our youngest has new birthday pets! She was very traumatized when her duck had to go live with Daphne the duck instead of in Nella's old dog kennel. So, I had parent guilt. The result is a 2x4 foot cage housing 2 small poop machines! The cage takes up a good portion of her room, and doesn't smell like spring flowers. But, she is thrilled! She woke up this morning to find the pets in her room. Her smile could have lit the darkest night--good parent moment. Anyway, the grey pig's name of the day is Sparkle. The black and white one is Blackey (she's very original). Names change often with our little girl, so who knows what they will be named tomorrow.
Grandma and Papa came bearing gifts this morning. Our cousin had also sent something from Alaska.
AD had a small "princess" party with a few friends. They decorated crowns, got their nails painted, had a tea party, and danced with streamers.
Daddy danced with streamers too. He was "Prince Charming." Maybe he should give up engineering for a life on stage in tights...
AD's cake. By some stroke of luck, she began planning her cake with Grandma. This morning, Grandma delivered this beauty. The best part was that I only had to add the candles! Thank you Grandma! Hmm...maybe I'm glad we live close to family after all.
